Spring is here!!!

Today was beautiful! Everything is leafing out and in full bloom. I am a teacher and we finished MAP testing today. I has been a long 3 weeks. I went to our high school today and bought plants for the front of my house. It also made me want to make some cards that remind me of spring. Hope you enjoy them.

Tea Bag Folding

I have always wanted to try Tea Bag folding. It is easy and I like the look it creates. Instructions on how to make this frame can be found at http://www.geocities.com/rubyburns@prodigy.net/diagram6.html

Well I don't have any artwork right now. It has been a rough few days. I have not felt well, and haven't gotten any new work finished. However I have a class I am teaching on Friday, so I should have some new artwork to post this evening if not tomorrow night. Click on this link to check out the contest Oriental Trading is putting on for those of you that are crafty. It looks like fun and has a great prize.

Butterflies

Here are two cards that I have put together showing butterflies. The first is colored using watercolor pencils and ablending pen. The butterfly is made from our Just Blooms Big Pinks Collection. The second card is a criss-cross card and my favorite part of this card is the ribbon dragon fly. There were many dragon flies made and taken apart before I found the one I liked best.

April: Express Postage

Wild Animal Birhtday Cards

These cards use the April Stamp of the month Express Postage, In the Wild stamp set, Summer Celebration Fibers, Dutch Blue, and Black Cardstock, and eyelets I used the chalk board technique to put the color on the black cardstock. Simply stamp in white first and then use chalk to add the color to the images.

CKC

This weekend I went to CKC at Collinsville Il. I had a great time, took some classes and learned some new techniques. I thought I would share some pictures of the classes I took.

Hanging Scrapbook Calendar sponsored by Everyday Scrap

This class was taught by Lauren Ferguson-Nwachukwu. She had a rough weekend. Someone had broke into her car and stolen all of her class kits. So in a days time she put everything back together so we could still have the class. This class was more advanced and as you can see from the picture I did not get it finished. Both sides of the chipboard is decorated and it gets turned after 6 months. This class was at the end of the day and I think my brain had shut down for the day. It is actually a very simple class, but I couldn't get my brain wrapped around it.

This is from the Think Big Family Canvas Class. It was by Quick Quotes. I wanted to take it last year, but didn't get it. It was fun, fast paced and I totally enjoyed it. This was my first class and I think my favorite for the day.

All in the Family Hide and Seek Flap Book Class by Piggy Tales. This was a fun class, they had all of the cutting done for us. It was just a matter of putting it together. The pages you are viewing shows flaps as well as a slide on the left page. This would be a great album to put together for a toddler that lives a long distance from grandma and grandpa.

Free Spirit

All Products Close To My Heart. This layout uses the stamp set D1217 Free Spirit, Vanilla, Blush, & Holly Hock Cardstock. It also uses textured cardstock for the strip down the middle. Chocolate and Holly Hock Ink, Organdy Ribbon Rounds: Chocolate, Blush, Colonial White, and Pink Carnation.

This is a closeup of the tag in the middle. I used Making Memories Tag makers to make the tag. It is a fun tool. You do have to play with it to be sure and get the tag crimped evenly.
Hope you like it.

Beautiful Day

Today was wonderful. The sun was out and there was a nice breeze. I had to make some deliveries and got home in time for dinner. I have some new artwork, but have not got pictures taken yet. I don't have to work late tomorrow, so hopefully I will get the pictures taken and uploaded.

Today is looking better than yesterday. It isn't raining, but the sun is also not showing itself. Didn't get home till late last night, so I didn't get any artwork posted. Hope to do that today.
