Spring Summer Challenge

I guess everyone is busy--No one tried my challenge. I will try somehting else later. Maybe at the end of the week I will do a blog candy.

So over at Paper Craft Planet I am doing a Challenge- What makes you think of Spring/Summer. You choose at least 3 items from the list and then create something with the items from the list. The winner will be randomly selected on Monday June 1st. Anyone is welcome to particpate.

The challenge is to use those products to create a work of art. It could be a card, scrapbook page, mini album, 3-D project, anything goes. There will be a random drawing to determine the winner and then they will get a goody of some sort. Hope you play.

Freebies for this challenge are

Alexis loves Hannah Montanna and she got lots of presents for her birthday.

On the right side middle is my journal box closed. I had lots of pictures and wanted to try and keep it to a 2 page spread.

Here is a close up fo the journal box closed

This is the first flap

Here the flap is completely open. The hardest part was getting the measurements right so it would open and close easily.

Can't waite to see what you create.

CPS Sketch 116 /Be Yourself May SOTM

Saw this sketch on CPS this week and thought it would work great with Close To My Heart's Stamp of the Month: Be Yourself. This is a cute stamp that reminds me of Girl Power.
The girl is stamped twice. Once in black and then I stamped the image again in Ocean and cut the dress out and glued it down. I used licquid glass on the boots to make them shiney, but it doesn't show up well on the picture.
Stamps are: D1349 Be Yourself( only available this month)
Ribbon is Z1122 HollyHock Ribbon Rounds Collection.

This card is cool because it can be used to send out a business card or a gift card.

Recipe: Cardstock cut 5 1/2 by 11

Scored at 4 1/4, 5 1/2, and 6 3/4

Fold so that it looks like the picture above. Fold and then punch the slot. I used a SU punch Paper shaper to cut the slot. I overlapped the punch to make it the correct size. Then I used Red Line Tape to close it off. You can see the tape on the picture above. Below you will see the inside of the card after it has been put together with my business card in it.

Thanks for looking.

Animals/Chalks/Copics

I need Sunshine and Summer. Being a teacher in tough in the spring. Sorta like a parent at the end of the summer. Ready for kids to get back into a different routine. I also teach at a Middle School, so needless to say things are a little crazy. I made these cards a little while ago,but am just now getting them posted.
2 of the backgrounds are Chalk lines from Technique Junkies and the background behind the porcupine is a new paper called Back Country from Close To My Heart.

The stamps are from Clear Dollar Stamps. I love all of their cute Charlie Horse stamps and they have some great Christian Stamps. Check them out. They are located in Missouri which I think is cool also. All other supplies are Close to My Heart. I also used Spellbinder Nestabilites.

This image was colored in using watercolor pencils and the green grass is chalks.

The Charlie Horse and the duck are colored in with Copics. This is my first attempt at Copics and I think they turned out pretty good.

Thanks for looking. Hope you enjoyed them
