Technique: Van Gogh

Tried out a new Technique from Technique Junkie. The card is colored using the Van Gogh technique. I used Copic markers. It is very cool, but it took me awhile to get it like I wanted. All paper is Close To My Heart. The saying in the top right corner is from D1350 Tender Tags ( only available from CTMH this month) Charlie Daisy is from Clear Dollar Stamps.

I love all of the Charlie Stamps.
Below is my craft helper. She thinks my craft table is her play room. She likes my artwork but prefers the scraps.

Flower Pot & Blog Awards

I haven't been a very good blogger lately. Summer School has started and I have watched my Mojo slip away. My craft room is a mess and I know it needs organized, but I look at it and think why can't I afford a maid? Anyone out there feel that way. I need motivation from all sides.

My Friend Jenn at Mueller Time got the award from our wonderful Scattered Hearts Leader Tina Sutton

I am not sure I am worthy, but Jenn has passed it on to me. This will make me shape up and do a better job. So now I am passing it on to fellow paper craft artists.
The rules are
1) Accept the award, and post a link on your blog with the person name and blog who granted the award.
2) Pass the award to 10 other blogs that you've newly discovered. Contact the choosen 10 to pass this along.
My ten are:
1. Karen Hays at This is My Life
2. Jacklyn-Jessa My Cluster of Cards
3. Vicki at Stamped Smiles
4. Laurel at Laurel's Place
6. Melissa at Fancy Melissa
7. Aaron at Booth 32
10. Peggy and Peg's Corner

So now on to the Art work.........

I have been seeing cards like this all spring and now into the summer. Finally decided to give it a try. Found the instructions on SCS.

Tickled Pink Layout #3

This layout I made with the scraps from the Tickled Pink Kit. I added 2 white pieces for the bases and 1/2 a sheet of textured pink. I stamped and cut out the flowers using some white paper out of my scrap drawer.

I don't take good photo's, but the baby sure looks cute. In the page below I also stamped on some chipboard flowers. The less I had the cut out the happier I was.

In the layout below the large picture was taken by my cousin Robert. He is playing with the Idea of becoming a photographer when he grows up ( he is 48 and still hasn't grown up). On this layout I mixed some of the colors when I stamped the flowers.
My mom and dad are so happy to be Grandparents again. Everyone had to get pictures with the new baby. This was Makayla's first visit to Grandma and Grandpa's house.
This conludes my Tickled Pink pages. I am out of the kit. I really like the papers. I still have the stamp set which I am in the process of making some cards with right now. Maybe I will post those tomorrow.

Tickled Pink #2 Let me Count the Ways

This layout is all about the many faces of MaKayla. It has the birth announcement and pictures that were taken the first month of her life. It isn't finished yet. I have to actually count the ways, but I don't like my handwriting and don't want it to be on a computer either. I am going get my mom to write on it. Her handwriting is very pretty.

Below is a close up of the first page. My sister made the announcement at Walmart and I think it goes great with this kit. I will have a list of things about the pictures on the other page when it is finished. I really like the flowers on this page. They layers are really cool.

This page shows Makayla at many stages of her life. She is a red head and has a temper, so that was important to include. I think every mood is important. 2nd picture, 1st column was taken on day one of her life. Now that I think about it I may move it so that it is on the top of the page.

Thanks for looking. I have one more layout using the Tickled Pink paper from CTMH that I will be posting tomorrow.

Tickled Pink Layout

Well I finally got some scrapbooking done. This kit was a special last month with CTMH. I tried to follow the directions that were given, but I never end up doing what the instructions say. I really liked this paper for my new Nieces first pages. I used scissors to cut between the petals on the flowers to make them 3-D. I used some pop-dots, but didn't want it to stand out too much.

In the close up below you can see the flower petals are curled. I used my scissor tips to curl the petals. I also used ink to color the crocheted flower. All the kids were in love with MaKayla the minute they saw her. She is going to be so spoiled.

In the page below I think my favorite part is the ribbon slides on the paper. I had a little trouble getting the slides to slide. The instructions said to cut it at 1/4 inch, but that was still a little large. The picture is of my sister and her husband with the new baby.

I have more pages I will share tomorrow.
