More Christmas Cards

As many of you know I am always running late. It never occurred to me that Christmas was right around the corner. So I have been busy making Christmas cards wrapping gifts, purchasing last minute gifts and realized I hadn't mailed out all of my cards. I mailed out some last week, yesterday, and missed the mail today by about 1/2 hour. My last batch will go out tomorrow. Some will get an after Christmas card.

This card used Holiday Block Stamp set, and Evensong paper. This card works for the

Card-a -licious challeng #8

This card uses Aspen paper, Just Chillin Stamps, December Word Puzzle, and Martha Stewart border punch

I recently gave in and got a Cricut. The words Happy Holiday are made using the cricut, everything else is CTMH.

I think this is one of my favorite cards. I love the border punch from Martha Stewart and the Just Chillin Stamp set is sooo cute.

The card above uses Just Chillin and Aspen paper pack. Below is a close up. The glitter doesn't show very well, but I like it.

Toys for Tots Crop

Barbara Reynolds organized a Toys for Tots Crop this last weekend. Admission was a new unwrapped Toy. There was a great turnout. We had over 50 toys donated for our local organizations. There were classes as well as lots of fellowship. Below are pictures of some of the croppers and some of their projects they were working on.

Pat and Cathy had at work and having fun.

Donna working on a kit

The finished pages

Erin is one of my fellow croppers. We do things together alot, as you can tell from the shirt she is wearing. She is always making some cool project.

This card was made by Betty Prater. I thought it was soo cute. I loved how she made the window frame for the snowman to be looking out of . Unfortunatly my camera didn't get a good picture. The battery was getting low.

Terri and Betty hard at work.

Karen is another friend charged with the Crime of Scrapping. She is very creative and always does wonderful projects.

New Car Mercury Mariner

I finally got a new car. It was just what I wanted. My friend Jane went Car shopping with me. We drove lots of different cars, before I found one that made me smile. It was weird, none of the other cars I drove made me happy. When I was finished test-driving this car I knew it was the one. I was happy and ready for the dealership to make me an offer that I couldn't refuse. After what seemed like hours( and it did take some time) I got the offer Iwanted and said SOLD. I took it home to show my parents and they agreed that I did a good job. I love my new car and would recommend it to anyone.

Teacher Gift Idea

I found this cute snowman box template at Card of the Week.com. I changed the size a little and put my own spin on it. I used the cuttlebug embossing folders, and all other products are Close To My Heart. Aspen Paper & Merry Pursuits stamp set. I thought it was way cute and it is so easy. You could put a instant hot chocolate in it with a chocolate spoon. What a great gift that would be.

Painting/Decorating- Which color would you choose

So I always had a hard time deciding on the color of walls. Well painting my stairs isn't easy and it won't be something that I do frequently. SOOOO I had to decide on a color that I liked. The squares were on the wall for about 2 weeks. I started with 2 squares and kept adding. My parents came up the weekend before Thanksgiving to help me paint my stairwell and living room. They came up Friday and stayed through Monday. They were suppose to go home on Sunday, but I had the stomach flue so bad my mom was worried about leaving me by myself. Sometimes it is tough being single and livng by ones self. It was nice to have my mom here to pamper me. Thanks mom!!!

Not the best picture, but it was tough being on a ladder in the stairs..

Dad built a box to go on the stairs for the ladder to sit on. It was still a little scary and Dad stayed next to the ladder to make sure I didn't knock it over.

Dad helped paint the upper part while I was trimming another wall.

Mom helped tape and trim. She also got the job of painting behind the Entertainment Center.( I wouldn't fit) Lucky for me neither mom or dad got pictures of me when I was sitting on top fo the Entertainment center painting and trimming next to the ceiling.

Unfortunately we didn't get the living room finished. Loosing ones cookies seems to slow a person down. I hope to finish it over Christmas Break. I will also have to decide how to scrapbook the pictures. Thanks for looking. I hope to post some artwork tomorrow.

Christmas Gift bag and card

Here are two different projects that we did at club last week. I needed to post last week, but things don't always go as planned. Club was on Thursday the 20th, my parents came up on the 21st and I got sick on the 22nd. Then it was Thanksgiving. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am thankful for my friends, family, and being healthy again.

The bag itself was purchased at Walmart($.50) the stamps used are D1228 Chillin and D1317 Feathery Flakes. The color is Z2134 Moonstruck( Doesn't it go perfect with the Walmart bag color)

The attached tag used D1317 Feathery Flakes and D1177 No Peeking. I actually used the tag and string that was already with the bag and added to it.

There are two different views of this card. The snowman swivels.

This card uses Aspen Paper Pack and the November SOM. It is a really cute card that my friend Dawnette showed me this fall. It isn't hard, but it is very cute. I used my nestibilites to cute the scalloped circle, and the coluzzle for the circles. It starts with a 4X12 piece of paper. Check out my website to see the products used here www.roxie.myctmh.com

CPS 91- Apron Card/Christmas

My friend Sue had a card similiar to this the weekend before last at a crop. I wanted to make one and thought of the CPS sketch this week. Here is my take on the sketch this week. I used nestabilites for the circles and the ric-rac ribbon is tied to photo hangers. The bell is embossed in gold(it doesn't show up well on the photo). I stamped on the red ribbon and used ink to color the ric-rac ribbon.

Snow on the Mind

The first cold snap has came and went here in Missouri. As a teacher the first thing I think about when the temperature gets around freezing is SNOW. I have snowmen on the brain. Here are two cards that I made. I really like the snowman with the lattice, but I am not sure about the snowman with the cuttlebug background. I tried putting a saying in the snowman and I don't think it works as well as it could have if the words were somewhere else. Wht do you think??

Products used are Outdooor Denim, All Decked Out, Aspen Paper Pack, December Word Puzzle. All Close To My Heart Products.

Cuttlebug and CPS #87

Well I have been sorta busy. This week I had Scrapbook club Monday night at School 6-8:30 pm and Parent Teacher conferences this week Wednesday and Thursday night until 7:30. It makes for long days and a long week. I have also had a lot of grading to do, so that takes the rest of the evening and Tuesday evening I stayed after to try and get caught up. I only have one class left and I am caught up!!--at least until next week.

Saw the new Challenge at http://cuttlebugchallenge.blogspot.com/2008/10/cuttlebug-challenge-4.html and decided to play. I also wanted to play with the CPS #87 sketch challenge

For this card I used the Cuttlebug Embossing Folder -Heart Block and Stylized Flowers, Fiskars border threading water punch, paper from More To Adore Level 1 Kit , flowers from Just Blooms Big Pinks, Love you from D1309 December SOM: Heart Throb, Clear Sparkles, and Ribbon Rounds-Chocolate by Close To My Heart.
